On 2003 May 07th the first visible transit of the planet Mercury across the solar disc since 1970 could be observed.
For all people, who were not able to see the event or just want to refresh their memories, I did a couple of photographs which are presented here.

Optics: 12-inch Meade LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope
Solar filter: 3 apertures of 9cm each, equipped with Baader Astrosolar ND5 filter

The following pictures should document the completely visible Mercury transit. The series starts with a test picture of the sun taken 3 days in advance of the event.
